AI-Warn develops a holistic, AI-driven Early Warning System (EWS) for climate-induced hazards, focusing on geo-related instabilities and urban flooding. By integrating Earth Observation data, remote sensing technologies, UAVs, IoT sensors, and advanced AI analytics, the project aims to support emergency responders, infrastructure managers, and public authorities in making timely, evidence-based decisions.

The system will be demonstrated in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and Brussels, Belgium, while ensuring interoperability with existing stakeholder IT systems and integration with the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS).

Our tasks:

  • Definition of threshold values for climate-induced hazard alerts
  • Integration of the EWS into existing stakeholder IT platforms
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines for end-users
  • Development and activation of CEMS On-Demand Preparedness Mapping
  • Development and integration of EWS crowdsourcing tools to support community engagement and hazard reporting
