At the joint CIRCUIT–LIAISON projects workshop during the Innovation Industry Construction Congress (IC2) 2026 in Santander, Spain, our colleague Sandra Škarić presented our work on circular and digital solutions for transport infrastructure. Together with Beton Lučko and Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG), we are developing the first fully circular bridge in Slovenia using reusable low-carbon bridge slabs.
In collaboration with Croatian Motorways (HAC), we are also developing digital twin models and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Green Public Procurement. Bojan Vivoda from HAC participated in the panel discussion “Road & Railway Authorities: How Green Public Procurement (GPP) and Innovative Public Procurement (IPP) Will Boost Innovation and Sustainability Across the Transport Sector”, alongside representatives of Slovenian, Spanish, and Italian road and railway infrastructure managers. The discussion highlighted the important role of infrastructure owners and operators in driving innovation and sustainability across the transport sector.
The congress also provided an opportunity for CIRCUIT partners to meet for the 7th General Assembly. Over two productive days, partners exchanged ideas, discussed ongoing activities, and planned the next steps of the project.
We would also like to thank the Universidad de Cantabria for the warm welcome and excellent hosting throughout the event.
