FOURIER is the first European Doctoral Network focused on digital inspection and smart infrastructure management. It brings together 22 partners from seven countries to develop AI-driven solutions for autonomous monitoring and inspection of complex engineering systems, with the goal of improving infrastructure resilience and reducing risks.

What sets FOURIER apart is its multidisciplinary approach, combining expertise from engineering, computer science, sensing technologies, emergency management, and social sciences to create scalable and adaptable solutions beyond traditional monitoring methods.

Coordinated by Politecnico di Torino, the network provides a strong link between academia and industry, supporting advanced training and contributing to more resilient, sustainable, and future-ready infrastructure across Europe.

Our tasks:

As part of the FOURIER network, our organization will host 2 of the 15 Doctoral Candidates, focusing on the following research topics:

  • Training AI Health Monitoring Algorithms Using Large-Scale Synthetic Data
  • Decision Optimization for the Management of Risks, Robustness, and Resilience in Transportation Networks
